FLEXIBLE MEASURES

The government has ordered the closure of tourist accommodation establishments to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Some hotel establishments and camping sites are exceptions to this rule.

In order to reduce the impact on operators of tourist accommodation establishments affected by this measure, on March 28, 2020, the Corporation de l'industrie touristique du Québec suspended billing of annual fees for holders of classification certifications. Consequently, there will be no penalty imposed for the holders concerned and no cancellation of certifications. In addition, all certification holders who have already received an invoice for their annual fees for 2020 will see their next invoice for 2021 adjusted based on the period covered under the measure.

While this measure is in effect, all certifications will remain valid.

Once normal activities have resumed, the Corporation de l'industrie touristique du Québec will inform operators about the procedure for paying or renewing their classification certification.

Thank you for your complete collaboration.
