The Ministry of Tourism recently announced amendments to theTourist accommodation Regulation aimed at strengthening compliance and streamlining certain administrative procedures.
Some of these measures have already come into effect as of spring 2026, while others will come into effect on September 1, 2026.

| |
Important: for many operators, these new requirements may apply before that date due to the rules governing registration renewals. |

Registration and Renewal Process |
| |
• For a principal residence establishment, applicants will now be required to provide two proofs of principal residence when applying for registration or renewal;
• Operators who are tenants of their establishment must provide written authorization from their landlord each year at the time of renewal;
• Operators whose establishment is located in a condominium building must provide authorization from the condominium association each year at the time of renewal;
| |
Authorization Forms |
| |
• Standardized forms for these authorizations will be introduced to simplify their receipt and analysis.
These measures aim to simplify certain practices, reduce fraud, and improve compliance with the regulatory framework. |
| |
| Important: Where applicable, the required documents must be submitted as part of your annual declaration/renewal application on the Portal. |
| |
| |
| Although some provisions officially come into effect on September 1, 2026, it is important to take the following rule into account: |
| A registration renewal must be completed within 60 days prior to its expiry date. |
Consequence:
If your registration expires in fall 2026, your renewal period may begin before September 1, 2026.
You may therefore be required to comply with the new requirements earlier during your renewal. If applicable, we will inform you. |
